What is Little Aid?
Whilst having years of experience in all aspects of first aid, Little Aid ONLY teach what’s relevant to babies and children. We’re affiliated with some wonderful businesses and organisations, as we help promote not only the knowledge of first aid, but the message of safety, health and overall wellbeing.
Can I bring my toddler or child?
Please bear in mind though that toddlers and children can be distracting.
This may not only affect how you may remember some vital information, but also affect how another participant may learn.
If it’s possible to do the course when someone else is caring for your child or toddler (such as during kinder hours) that would be ideal, or perhaps organise your course around sleep times.
We understand it isn’t always possible for everyone, so if you can’t organise some help, please don’t stress about it – such things happen and can always be worked out. We’d rather you bring your toddler or child than to miss out all together.
Can we bring our babies?
If a baby decides to be more demanding than usual, we’ll ensure that their parent or carer does not miss out on anything, we can even pause for a break.
Your Little Aid trainer is a parent too, so we understand it’s often difficult to find a babysitter or you simply may not wish to be apart.
First aid for your precious little bundle is too important not to learn. Your baby is not an ‘obstacle’ that can’t be overcome!
How does the Little Aid fundraiser work?
- Once the course is completed, your chosen cause (eg, kinder) will receive a cheque for up to 20% from the total course fees from Little Aid. It’s that easy, and what better excuse!
- The course is usually held at the premises for which you’re raising money (eg, a school.)
- Everything else is the same as every other Little Aid course.
How many people attend a course?
This is a small number, which is deliberate as we’ve learned from experience that people are more relaxed and learn more within these numbers.
If you have, for example 20 people interested, we recommend this is broken up into 2 courses.
I'm a childcare worker and need a first aid certificate – is this what Little Aid provides?
This is usually obtained from doing a two-day course and maintained with regular one-day refresher courses.
At this stage Little Aid does not provide this qualification, as this would raise costs dramatically, not to mention require a lot more time.
We’re more about teaching people what to do than the formalities of a qualification.
What are the benefits of doing a Little Aid course?
Little Aid have worked hard to find out the answers so our courses are accessible to EVERYONE:
- There’s no need to sacrifice a whole weekend, our courses are short.
- YOU decide the time and location most convenient.
- Our course quite simply costs MUCH less.
- Hands-on practice with bandages, manikins etc.
- Little Aid ensure you have fun whilst you learn, in a nurturing environment.
- A relaxed, familiar environment means participants learn and remember more.
- Useful, unique handouts – ours are designed so you can write your own notes to help you remember the information – but if you are unable (eg. whilst breastfeeding) the key points are there for you.
- No daunting exams.
- We understand what you want, as Little Aid ONLY specialise in first aid for children and babies.
- Special double-sided wall chart for each person to take home.
- THIS IS YOUR COURSE! WE WILL NOT FINISH THE COURSE UNTIL YOU ARE 100% SATISFIED!
What do I need to bring?
Some private groups ask that each participant bring a plate, some do this in the evening with wine and cheese, or over a cuppa. This is completely up to you, how you and your group feel most comfortable.
Fundraisers are organised however you choose, some preferring to include food as part of the fundraiser. Again, this is completely up to you and we’re happy to give you further tips to ensure a successful fundraiser!
