What do we expect from a Little Aid course?
- We come to you, including weekdays, evenings or weekends.
- A trainer will arrive around 15 minutes prior to your course starting. It is advised to ask others to arrive early too, ensuring prompt start time (which can affect conclusion time).
- It is strongly advised to take notes during the course as this has been proven to help you retain the information (when it counts!)
- CPR training includes hands-on practice with manikins.
- Choking treatment training includes hands-on practice with manikins.
- We only use baby and child manikins, not adults.
- The topics are explained in a professional, friendly, light manner, no stuffy lectures or medical “jargon”, just serious facts in an enjoyable way.
- Your trainer has a small whiteboard for some demonstrations and explanations.
- There are some products available for sale during the course such as small family first aid kits designed specifically for parents.
- Whilst it is advised to seek babysitting if possible, we understand that babies need mums and dads, especially whilst breastfeeding. Therefore babies and breastfeeding are always welcome.
Each person is given a small bag with a double-sided A4 reminder wall-chart and printed notes with the key points to your course and a space for writing your own notes. To assist with writing notes, your trainer have some clipboards and pens. We assist with relevant handouts from various government organisations (eg Poisons) when available.
