Welcome to Little Aid

"First aid training for parents, grandparents and babysitters." Recommended by maternal & child health nurses

Little Aid provides first aid training for parents, grandparents and babysitters.   Little Aid want EVERY parent/carer to know first aid for their kids!

DID YOU KNOW...?

Many of our course bookings have been due to somthing that's already happened and then realising "I really should learn what to do!"

The most common stories we hear are about:

  • A febrile Convulsion
  • Choking - either in older children or a baby starting solids.
  • A Burn - including sunburn.
  • Near drowning or another CPR related incident.
  • Head Injury
  • Uncontrollable bleeding, amputation or penetrating object.
  • Poisoning,

amongst others....

And if it's not an incident that's happened to their child, it will be something that has happened a little too close to home.  This is usually the first time that the thinking "it won't happen to me!" turns into "Goodness, that could happen to anyone...even me!"

And then...."Oh no!, I wouldn't know what to do!"

Accidents and illness happen to babies and children every single day, even if you have taken precautions.  Be prepared for the what ifs...Check out these stories about how others survived based on their knowledge.

It's in our nature when something isn't immediately pressing to put it on the backburner.  This is First Aid!   What's more, it's First Aid for your baby or child.  At a time of accident or illness, this is when your baby or child needs you most!

Little Aid are inexpensive, convenient, friendly and professional.  We give added incentives such as our FREE goodie bag to each participant as well as a Certificate of Attendance.  We even offer a Fundraising option for your school, kinder, club or charity.  Then there are our Monthly Incentives for courses booked in the home.

We're trying to emilinate the excuses to keep learning vital first aid for your baby or child "on the backburner".

About Us

Hello, and thank you for visiting our Little Aid site. I take it you have done so because you have a child, grandchild or you are a babysitter, and searching for peace of mind. Well done, this is a serious topic, but should really be so simple!

My name is Michelle and I want  you to know the steps that eventually led me to create little aid.
In 2000 I began working for the 000 ambulance service and loved it! It was fast paced and I got a lot of satisfaction at the end of my shift knowing I’d somehow made a difference in people’s lives that day.
Unfortunately a LOT of people caring for kids didn’t know the simplest of first aid which not only would have helped their kids, but also calmed themselves down during the process of dealing with the situation.
I wanted to do something about this, but didn’t know where to start.
In 2002 I became a trainer at 000 Ambulance, and gained my qualifications to teach. (Certificate IV BSZ40198). Not long afterward I had my first daughter, Brooke.
During Brooke’s first year, we had a few trips to the hospital and I thanked my lucky stars that as a first-time mother I knew what to do for each incident. Of course, over the next few years, there were even more.
In 2005 I had our second daughter, Jemma. I left 000 and began working as a first aid trainer. I loved this new challenge, became even more passionate about it, and found that my previous experience was extremely valuable and that people would ask a lot of questions of me not only as an ex-ambulance operator but also with my personal experience as a mother.
I know there’s first aid training available (after all, I taught it) and so I did some research to find out why people didn’t get around to learning something so important.
Then I tried to combat each and every reason... little aid was born.
It’s my new baby, one I’m extremely proud of (and will definitely be the last baby too!) and I look forward to making it grow.
Thank you, and I look forward to meeting you! - Michelle
